Mission

The business manufacture and sell on line via Ebay and Amazon. The client wanted to move sales to their ecommerce website.

  • To increase direct website sales
  • To develop a new ecommerce website with a good eye on front-end design and the user experience
  • To rank highly on Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) for selected keywords

Challenge

The existing website was poorly designed, difficult to navigate, slow to load and did not rank organically with Google so only 10% of sales were from the ecommerce website.

Online revenue generation was split into three parts:

  • Ebay – making 85% of sales revenue
  • Amazon – making 5% of sales
  • Legacy website – making 10% of sales

This presents several goals and at DNA, when we set out on any project, we aim to understand the commercial objectives, not just making a pretty and stylish website.

Significant Outcomes

We mentioned before the challenge of delivering effective organic SEO. By applying a number of key techniques we were able to get the new ecommerce website onto page one of Google in under 6 weeks.

This has enabled the client to drastically reduce his Google Ads budget and thus improve profit margin on online sales. The new website has seen sales increase by 100% each month in the first 2 months.
