Often when I meet leaders of businesses they are very clear about their vision. When asked if their Board know the vision I am assured they have all been in a workshop and now have a document.
So how about your employees? Well they know what they are to do for sure, is often the reply.
However, it does not take long in a walk around the factory, or having a management meeting to discover that often the vision is just perceived as rhetoric from above. On the shop floor and in the office it’s a different tale.
Now this is where we can get squirmy as leaders and roll out our excuses (reasons) why things are as they are. But when we look back at the man in the mirror and ask ourselves ‘honestly, can I do better? Could I engage my employees? Would business improve if staff brought their brains as well as body’s to work? If so how can I achieve this?
This is where employee engagement meets vision, the results can be huge. The response beyond your expectation and the outcome what you only dreamt of.
